First enrichment class

Kdenn went for his first enrichment class (outside childcare centre) in the evening on 16 March, Tuesday. Mum signed up the Creative Drawing Art Class in the evening for him after he showed interest in choosing it. It costs $60 for 12 sessions of 1.5hrs at the Punggol 21 CC which mum felt was quite reasonable and (still) affordable.

Mum left the class soon after he settled on his seat and just as the teacher has started the drawing lesson. With a little bit of worries, mum decided to wait at the general office at the CC. 9pm then walked back to the classroom, and shocked to find Kdenn missing. He was hiding at one corner, sobbing away. According to the teacher, the class has ended and he started crying because he was sad why mum was not here yet!

oh, my goodness! What an experience! But mum was happy seeing what Kdenn has done for the first drawing class!! Very happy indeed! There was a report slip attached to his work. This was impressive.... stated B+ grade for it, score 82, good for colouring and line works, though needs improvement for water colour.

At the beginning, mum was worried whether he can understand the instructions the teacher will be giving. But am very very glad, he achieved something at the end of the class!! Even though there was some sad sobbing and sense of lost, but it was worth the learning and experience mum wants to give Kdenn!!

Dejected, rejected, hurt and angered

this is the first time Kdenn hurt me deeply. He says he doesn't want me and doesn't like me. Yes, i'm a fool to take his words seriously. But if you know him, he talks seriously most of the times. Furthermore, he repeated it several times.

I feel like i suffered for nothing. He doesn't know how to appreciate (yet) what my sacrifices have been, all for him. He talks back, behaves rudely to me. When i m sad, he chose to say he don't want me! Thus, i was super hurt and angry.

Reacting to his rudeness, i finally have to resort to caning him. This is the first time for 2 nights, he doesn't want to appreciate me, and say sorry to me. Even grandma tried to explain how wrong he was, he still chose to be egoistic!!! His sense of pride is shown strongly.

TO the extend of telling him, NO MILK FOR U! I even took away his all-time companion-my CD player. I m ready to see how he is dying for it, and i have to take the opportunity to punish him.

In the end, it doesn't work (yet). He is still not saying sorry. Tonight is the 2nd night. When i was sad last night, i thought he will come to give me a tap on the shoulder and encourage me. But instead, he said he doesn't like me, and walked away. This added more to my sadness last night. Thus i decided to be angry with him.

Since i m not appreciated, there is no point i sacrifice so much for him!!

I give up delicious lunches, give up sharing birthday pressies for friends and colleagues, gave up all the gatherings that require me to spend some gifts, gave up my lunch money for his monthly medications, for his stationeries that he asks for, toys he love to have, use up my fullest energy to do up all the chores to give him the best at home, give him the first approach whenever he needs in the middle of the night, protect him from virus and sickness, giving up my savings for all the precious remedies that can keep him healthy and assist in his health development so that he can catch up with the rest.
....yet, this is what i get from him.

Yes, i did not expect anything much in return. But, .... at this moment, i am just feeeling dejected. Very sad.

I wish my words can get into him to grow up to be a man of wisdom, one who knows how to use the right intention, attitude, and actions towards life and his environment.

yet another playful kid

Kdenn went to Granduncle Eric's house and had whole of his time fiddling with things around the living room. First was the unique bendable leg rest armchair/sofa, up and down, and up and down, again and again... next was the rocking chair, granduncle's beloved resting reading chair, was told it's all oak, and safe for kids because there's no metal or steel screws even at the rocking parts. The rocking is smooth, Kdenn was rocking hard, harder and harder, and mum stare sternly at him, (with terror and fright) to stop him from doing damage to things in the house (oh, plsss!!!)... he was enjoying his time there, talking to granduncle, answering his questions, singing the same song again and again... watching the big 50" plasma in the living room... gosh!! it's a afternoon, BUT... NO NAP, not in the least, TIRED at all!!! amazing! ... happily being snapped, chucking himself with the neck pillow as well... exploring the comfortable lower back pillow rest... bla bla bla.... aiyooooo.... as if it's HIS home!!!??? oh my boy! am i supposed to be angry or happy!?

Suddenly in mummy's eyes.... Kdenn is really a Grown-Up now...
He also has a sibling now...

Thoughts. Transition. Awaiting Eliza's arrival

suddenly looked back at 2008 national day's activity photos of kdenn in childcare... memories, memories, memories... compared to now... he's growing real fast... picking up words, habits, good and bad, imitating adults, commenting actions and exploring curiosity here and there.
Remembered when i was admitted to hospital in january 2009, he will look for me (i wan mama) after the 2nd night he din see me for. Can sense the power of mummy's importance and the bond. No matter how fierce and mean i can treat him, no matter how playful the daddy can be close to, he will still find me. He got fever after missing me too much at the 3rd night... and finally saw me receiving him at the Childcare the next day, can see the gladness in his face.
Thinking of the change that is going to happen in 2 wks time... i can't imagine how he is going to take it or look at it. His little sister is coming soon. There will be someone calling him brother in a few years time. Eliza is going to fight with him for things. Will he lead? Will he be proud? Will he fight? many thoughts went through my mind. How will Eliza relate him as? How will both occur together as siblings? How will Kdenn change from there?
No matter what, i know for sure one thing: I love Kdenn very much, fully, truly, mostly, no less than i am going to continue loving Eliza for, no matter how much Eliza is goin to need me for the first few important years, i know Kdenn is still as important to me. I m proud to be his mother. And i m glad that mum is somebody i can rely on to keep him going while i build up my health after delivery again.

Housewarming cum Kdenn birthday party INVITE

mummy have not ever gave Kdenn a birthday party, and this year became one of her KPI haha! Yeah, so sad right? Hmm... his birth in december is hard time to get all his kakis you see? ...december... xmas season, holiday season also, hard to get ALL of them you know!?... and gosh! so much capital to run one!... got to save, got to think, HARD!
BUT, this time, just go all out! should not wait any more! Now he knows everything that is happening around him, he can remember, he can recognise, and he can feel the excitement and warmth with everybody around, so, sure definitely is worth the effort!
This time, mum will get just few people who are available to come over, and at the same time, let the housewarming take place too! Isn't it really worth to call for a small celebration?... although it's gonna be tired... but glad ah ma was nice to help to cook some food! though in the end , we decided to have both - buffet catering and ah-ma's addition!! Hopefully everything turns well and will be successful and memorable for all of us...
It is really hard to get everyone, but also 'sweat' to just pick a few pple to come... hope those not invited do not get upset or take it so hard, mummy really didn't mean to count them out, sometimes... life is just so hard... and i always believe it doesn't mean you are NOT good if you are NOT invited lor... to kimz mummy, it's always in the heart...
anyway, let's make the plans moving! MOVE IT MOVE IT!! hahaaaa!

1st experience to the BIG SCREEN

1st experience at Toa Payoh Cineplex

After the zoo experience, realising Kdenn's interest and excitement in active animals, mummy decided to bring him to the big screen for the real first cinema experience. Thinking that this should be the first and last "free" admission for him (as his height is about there already now --> 0.9m), we wait no delay! Saturday morning will be the right and best time!

Kdenn had watched the Madagascar 1 on DVD before, and mummy was quite confident this is one show he will sit through, thus the decision ;) ...there he went for the first experience to watch MADAGASCAR - II yeah!!!

Was fun and exciting for him! Smiling, happy, curious looking at the hundreds of seats in there, dark, lucky not crowded (as expected) thus very comfortable!! haha free admission and get a seat by himself hahahaaaa....

Yes, he loves it, he remembers it, enjoyed it, brought the memories home, and daddy and mummy are both happy and glad too!! ...though dad almost fell asleep :P coz it's almost kids' show afterall hahaha.... timing was just nice, kdenn allll--most going bored... just as the story was about to end!!! GOSH! good good good! fingers up! Watch it! Have a good laugh at it! Destress! heeheeheeee... it's all about the giraffes, zebras, hippos, lions, monkeys and more... the animals that kids BASICALLY learn about in their first years!

CHEERS!

Finally the Zoo Come True

Yes, finally mummy successfully brought kdenn and family to the zoo, as she wished long long ago!

It was a stormy sunday morning at about 3am. Though there were sounds of thunder, it didn't kill mummy's plan to go to the Zoological gardens when the sun rise in the morning. There was a evening event on the saturday before, and it was all packed and planned, as agreed with ah-gong and ah-ma, to go together, and whatever that they wish to prepare the excursion for. So, excitedly, on saturday afternoon, Kdenn was told that mummy will bring him to the zoo the next day, to see elephants, tigers and lions, and the giraffes. Excitedly with curiosity, Kdenn nodded his head, relating that he wants to go to the zoo.

Though it was a cold wet weather, no one dares to mention about the zoo, just in case we all have to cancel the trip because of the gloomy weather. BUT, to mummy's surprise, the first thing Kdenn mentioned the moment his eyes opened in the morning, was "see elephant, see lion see lion"!! (oh no, yes!) mummy was stunned! True, we have to go, and now he even remembers mummy's promise though no one reminded him!!! GOSH!!

Alright, luckily, we had a smooth journey to Toa Payoh for breakfast and headed to the zoo. Was so crowded because of the Family Day of PUB, and we paid for the tix and went in. It was a super fine weather, light sun, light occasional wind blowing, wet floorings, and we were all fortunate enough to show Kdenn all the basic animals like elephant, giraffe, tiger, lion, hippo and monkeys . We were also able to visit the cheetah, ostrich, zebra, and polar bear. From observation, think kdenn remembers the sleeping polar bear, giraffe and the fierce tiger most of all hahaha....

Great! It was indeed a worthwhile excursion for mummy to kdenn, finally wish come true, plan success! Great timing to bring kids to first experience to the real zoo... yeah! You won't believe mummy had thought about this since a year ago or so! Cheers! Guess the next trip to the zoo will bring us the full family photo of 4 liao! coolz!
