That's my Kid!

Yes, it's kdenn's 21 months old! Brought him to the kaikan lately at telok blangah for a general discussion meeting. He was shy to go to the front to perform his chanting post kekeke... he leaned tightly to mummy lor, smile smile lor...dare not go lor hahaha... he and held on the welcome prop can, shaking it noisily during the meeting, and of course we tried to distract him with something else so that he won't throw tantrums. He was quite fine la... but need to go home and cook his lunch so we left early...

Kdenn learns to cross his arms like "Stamford Raffles" hahaha... he learns and picks up fast la!! ...hmmph! he just learns actions fast, everything... just don't want to open his mouth to learn to TALK TALK TALK!!!! speak quick speak la!!! aiyoooo.... ggggrrrrrr..... He even knows about the rubbish chute in the house!! Terrible! Make sure he don't throw away things unnecessarily leh!! ...He also opens his closet and dig out his clothes to show mummy!!....gosh!!! messy liao lor like that!!! aiyooooo... whatever that u say "NO" he will be more excited to even touch it lor!!! Rebellious right!!?? *Faint mannnn!!!

Has been long since we brought him out shopping. We happened to have a chance to shop for a while at Lido Isetan last weekend after a fine dinner at Soup Restaurant, a mini celebration for mummy's brother hopping into the working society (finally). Kdenn was excited to look at everything on the shelf, as usual, star, cars, bus... and other colourful toys for kids... touch touch here touch touch there la.... and chase and chase after him, follow him non-stop lor... o ya! and he gets very happy whenever he spots the McDonalds Logo!!! GOSH!!! when did that started lor!!!???

Monday "Blue"

After a happy weekend of fun, it is another Monday again.... but how come so coincident, we are dressed up for a monday "Blue"!!! So united hahaha.....


The lazy boy knows it's monday and doesn't want to wake up!!...he's also in blue!! He pull out his mattress and lied flat lazily!!!

Labrador and The Gymball Fun

To Labrador Park they said it is great place for a healthy walk, for Kdenn, morning or evening... first tried... so far... but will try again... but Kdenn is amazed by the waters (as usual)

His excitement over the gym ball at home which mummy had it but no time to use it well...

He will pull the cushion mat over , grab the gongyo book from the drawer and start flipping the pages, and start blabbing his chants kekekeke....gohonzon, will you accept his sincerity and prayers please....

Kdenn's 10 Best at 20 months

Kdenn is now 20 months old and though he is still prompt to coughing and cold, but mummy and daddy are glad he is growing up "mentally" at their satisfaction. Though he's still not speaking, but he makes his own sentences...>> "jigu-gu-gu-daah!!" He applauses with the crowd on tv. And he dances too. mmm...something like cha cha, but got squat down like duck walking so funny and there is a sequence: squat 5 times, then clapping hands, then cha cha!! Who knows what dance is that!!!???

These are noted his 10 best now....

1) He will pull you to the kitchen for the milk bottle, urging u to prepare milk for him. Then waits to be prepared and shows eagerness to help in every way eg. cover the milk powder, take the teat, opens drawer for us to pick the preparing spoon. Thereafter, walks into bedroom towards his cot and wait for u to carry him into bed and he positions himself, expects u to give him his milk then.
2) He pulls u to show u the mystery of uncle's wardrobe in there in his room...>his collection of luxury cars!!
3) He grabs the bath towel from the hanger when he knows that it's bathtime!
4) He gets hold of the bathfoam, and imitates how we shake it.
5) He holds his drinking bottle and drinks himself.
6) He tries to push back the high chair after meals (of course so heavy we must help him la)
7) He throws rubbish into the dustbin including his own used diapers!! (he becomes useful now hahaha!!)
8) He tries to pick the food with the spoon and feeds himself.
9) He is learning to chew rice and food at meals ;)
10) He puts back his powder, tummy oil and lotion into the basket after his bath.

One is Enough...

A long weekend since national day (Thursday) plus mummy took leave yesterday (Friday) and this makes today so much longer hahaha... This morning there was a "Asthma Documentary" on U-Channel research done by some Korean Doctors. Suddenly it came to show us some useful knowledge and a better understanding of causes and happenings of Asthma and Bronchitis in kids ....like our little Kdenn. FYI, researchers had shown that asthma rates are higher in richer countries!! Qn: Are we rich? (heeheeheeeheee...)

As u expected, Kdenn started with runny nose again last week. Gradually coughing started, just like the usual cough cycle. *Coughing is always our greatest headache and struggle with Kdenn. Usually he can take more than 2 weeks to recover lor.... haiiiiii.... Just before this, he was taking the Chinese medicine and everything was under control. Carelessly after the medication was completed, mummy forgot to continue to get more medicine for him to continue. And now we really regret not remembering to do that!! Otherwise, he would not have been coughing now and still having runny nose AGAIN!!

Why always non-stop... one after another... haiiiii.... isthis part and parcel of his growing up?

A Chinese therapist introduced mummy to bring kdenn to this Chinese physician and Tanjong Pagar. That day when mummy was almost reaching the Medical Hall there, she realised that Kdenn had coughed too much. The night before, he didn't stop coughing after 3am (ie about 2 coughs in every 2 mins) How can u continue sleeping like that lor!!! But then when mummy drove kdenn to the medical hall, she realised that Kdenn is going to go breathless soon... so immediately she decided to take the 2nd option which the Chinese Therapist introduced - to the Specialist at Gleneagles. We head to Gleneagles Medical Centre immediately after booking an available slot with the Doctor.
To cut it short, that first consultation cost mummy $264 approx. That included renting the Nebuliser home for 4 days.

After the Nebulisation for 4 days, following up the next appointment cost us another $101. Gosh.... think we are going to faint if this appt goes on!! We seen every kid's parents walked out with the same few medications and the nebuliser. The doctor specialises in Cough and Asthma. We wonder how all the other parents can afford to come here for the consultation and medications. We wonder what is so unusual about this doctor. We wonder what do all these parents like about the doctor and what miracles can this doctor do.... Is this going to be a prolonged thing that we have to continue to pay a high price for him? The only significant words the Doctor said that we can remember vividly was: Cannot go shopping, market, hawker... places with lots of people and crowds. This is a long-term diagnosis process. The phlegm will take more than a month to subside...!!!

We did not spend on the nebuliser of course! We took this as a lesson that we will remember to continue his chinese medications after this batch of medication is completed. Now is still a matter of time... whether when is his phlegm going to come to a stop, and when is the mucus drying up and say BYE!!!..... till we can start afresh again...

Since this has been a slow healing process, a part of our "fixed expenditures" :P we thought ..."one was enough".... and mummy has almost come to a decision... she decided that she would not want another sibling for kdenn already... we did not want to take any more heartful risks like this... so heartpain lor.... everytime something happens... haiiii....let's see how long this decision can be fixed for ;)

Happy Weekend!

Last weekend we went to Nai-Nai house again at msia. It has been 2 months since we last saw Minmin sister (daddy's niece). She so cute leh can see? aiyo... she already start to say "mum-mum" and call mama papa liao lor....she is only 10months old!! so malu our kdenn still lazy to learn to speak!!! aaarrrrhhh!!!

Yesterday mummy went to IMM shopping over lunch hour again ah!!! She so tempted at the Kids' Mall and bought a MEGA-BLOK truck for kdenn. A little ex $24.95, but then mummy thot this truck can transport several blocks, big enough for him to like pushing around, and has big wheels he likes to see it wheeling... so mummy decided to buy him...one of the first few toys mummy willing to spend on ok!!! "nan-de" leh!!!

Bedtime & Milk

Kdenn will point to his milk bottle every night since he was 18 months... but last night, he pointed to his milk bottle a little earlier.... about 20mins earlier... and mummy thot of cheating him (:P) so just took the bottle and put back in place on the table and walked out of kitchen. Surprisingly, Kdenn cried bitterly! aiyooooo!! so he REALLY meant "I WANT MILK" lor!!! wow.... so mummy was sorry and so agreed to make the feeding ready for him hahahaa.a... then as he stand beside the table looking at mummy prepare the milk, he then look contented. After mummy was ready, he ran to his cot bed lor... and open his arms to mummy for "bao-bao" to carry him to his bed....and of course, to start drinking! Then naughty mummy wanted to change his top to long sleeve first, and kdenn lie flat on his pillow thought milk should come. But because mummy insisted to change his shirt first, he a bit angry again lor kekeke.... wan to start to cry again... hehehe.... so mummy quickly explain and change him fast. And so, after that he lie on his pillow again, and finally he got his milk! hehehee..... After drinking, he went to sleep quite fast leh! .... We guess he was really tired ba....

Suddenly we felt his growth. So now he can tell us he want's milk if he wants to sleep earlier liao... so cute lor...


And mummy just bought 2 sets of new pyjamas for him, lately weather cold cold, and mummy found that he outgrown his previous long sleeves tshirts liao. Then this morning, auntie susan (mummy's colleague) bought him another set it's the "CARS" cartoon on it. Coz Kdenn love cars and aeroplanes, bus ... etc.... so mummy happen to get 2 sets both also got prints of small cars, buses and aeroplanes.... guess he will love it... heeheheee... brought home and he kept pointing at the vehicles printed on it woh...


Last night he seem to start calling "ma-ma"... and plus BBsitter auntie Lily said it too... but mummy haven really listened to him calling yet leh... heeheheheee... We guess he will first call mama and dadda (daddy) first kekeke.... (GLAD!!!) hahahaa... everybody else can come next lor heeheehee.... maybe ah-gong and ah-ma should come next, since he like to stick to ah-gong so much lor...

Mummy also changed kdenn's milk powder (AGAIN) with no choice... after seeing him constipate for almost a month continuously... this time mummy is confident she got the right choice to feed him. We found vegetable oils in the ingredients, which ah-ma said should be more appropriate for toddlers like him. And forum also said so for constipants. So pray that it helps him much. And lately, mummy bought the New Zealand honey to nourish him. Also feed him Glucolin, and make sure every meal also must eat fruits, including breakfast (but not so much la)... so tedious now..... got to spend so much on his diet now. haiiii..... but.... as long as gets better... ok lor... now GST so high, everything so expensive, then mummy didn't get bonus this time, and the stupid HR still haven do adjustment to our salary. sian sian sian!!! angry also no use kind...!!!! gggggggggrrrrrrrrrr.............

Now milk powder settled, his 18month jab finally overcome-d last week with a delay of 1 month, still ok.... fever for 2 days then ok liao... and we still consulting chinese physician, hopefully build up his health again!! YESH!!!

bye bye fits

Kdenn suffered from Febrile Fit Seizures on 30th june and was admitted to hospital, thereafter he was provoked again and threw into fits again 3 times whilst in hospital. frightened mummy and daddy... as his fever hit 39.5 degrees for few days before he could finally turn back to playfulness and discharged. Neurologist doctor mentioned that nothing should happen again because it has been diagnosed as viral fever that provoked the fits, though not the serious kind of fits, but it was still, definitely horrifying. And thinking back all the pokings in his hands, taking turns on left and right hands each day, his cries of pain and discomfort was heart-cutting!! Drips on him... no feeding la... bullets into his bottom...paracetamol and more paracetanol... hoooooo..... till finally he can eat porridge again... and his swollen eyes... for several days...after so many crying we guess...

During the unconsciousness, kdenn eyeballs was rolling upwards, both hands were stiff and shaking hard clenching his fists, both feets were curving like as if he was dancing ballet. his face was turned from red to pale... for less than a minute each lasted. Mummy had a hard time sponging him after knowing that it was so important to keep his temperature down. With his struggling and rejections, everyone had to face his crankiness overnights in the hospital.

It was indeed a hard time... until he was able to discharge on wednesday 4th july, everyone was still having the strong fear that he will be provoked again anytime!! After he went home, he became more bad-tempered than before, easily crying, everyone is worried!! And mummy finally decided to cut off his pony tail... the distinct tail of kdenn... hoping that would change his fortune a bit lor.... it has now been about a week. He is recovering, better tempered, wonder if the cut off of his pony tail works... though he is now having flu and cough.... we felt we are undergoing a suffering period... really looking forward to his recovery and staying away from medications after that... thinking of seeing the chinese physician after that, hope it improves his antibodies and strength of health...

Here is Kdenn's favourite car magazine, flipping over and over again and again, day after day. Mummy feels its worth spending on the magazine as he loves to see it everyday, enjoying it everytime. Sometimes we thought is it mummy was working in such an environment that influenced him to fall interest in books and prints. ANd pointing hard at the things he sees on every page lor...

Mummy and Kdenn dressed ready to go secret lunch celebration arranged by ah-gong!!!

We had a lunch celebration at Da-ShangHai at Kings Centre today.... celebrating Mummy(ah-ma) Birthday, Fathers' Day and Kdenn's 18months birthday hahahaa....

Kdenn and his pressie from auntie SweeZeng (jiu-jiu GF).... Tiga... noisy tiga.... always kena abused by Kdenn!!

haiii.... 18months liao... but still haven call mummy and daddy lor... only "ah-DA, ah-DA, ...." everything also "da", daaaa" , "daaa!!!!" loud loud one lor!!! heeheehee... so fierce also... knows what is happening around, but don know how to speak in words yet....

Noise-maker

The noise-maker loves banging on his "instruments", as loud as they can give him. He will bang real hard especially if the effect will get louder! Loud is he, and suffering are our ears!!! We have to stop him, but he thought that is even fun and that we are playing with him!!! ....loves banging on anything that can make a sound....cookery sets we bought for him at the IKEA toys, moving toys with batteries-operated, eating utensils, singing (actually shouting) with his maracas(shakers) and guitar and xylophone....hooo!!!... what does this tell us??

A Little "R-Rated"

As usual, Kdenn loves bathing till today.... he will carry his bathtub to the toilet and cannot wait till he jump into his tub, with full of water and bubbles... and start splashing.... and wet is mummy...over her face, glasses and shorts and thighs.... this is Kdenn at bathtub...splashing all the way once he gets in... until water empties...and he is then being cleaned...

his musical world - happy maracas

Thank you Auntie Fiowen for the new set of musical instruments. Kdenn loves to make sounds from instruments; "beating" on the keyboard, yes BEATING i mean; beat the drum, hitting cookery sets; tamberine; and this is his new set of Maracas! He is trying to sing with it hahahaaaa....so noisy at home every night now...

17 months on 17 may

...towards 17months is he this month... he has been transitioning fast lately, and showing us new things fast too. He is finally holding milk bottle on his own, and mummy can finally rest her back a bit. He is getting away from the cradle, increasingly over weekends. He starts to appreciate what he eats and shows interest and attHe loves to walk with eyes closed, peeping at the person he aims towards, and give the faking smile. He really loves fun, so playful to the extend he will have nightmares, and makes mummy wake up to him at least twice almost every night.

He runs to mummy and tap her on her thighs, and say "dah", and turn back, run to another person, to do the same. We thought whether he picked that word from us, as we always mention to beat him if he does something wrong. and so we go "dah!" and he picked that?? Well, as the saying goes, it takes not much time to pick up bad habits or such kekeke... and so he shown? aiyoooo....

He will also talk back in his own language whenever we stop him from doing something wrong. Sometimes he will grumble and walk away and pretend nothing happened! Sometimes he will give u the "fake-cry" face, hoping you will not get angry with him!! ...angry and yet adorable!!!

We can see he is starting to understand what everyone is saying to him, asking him to do things... ah he will respond when we call him for bathtime hahahaaa... and he will carry his bathtub from under the bed towards the toilet, my gosh!!! u definitely laugh coz the tub is so big and he is putting all his strength to carry the tub hahahaa!!! so bad hor mummy kekekekee..... and he will keep his toys, once in a blue moon only lor, by throwing back into place, but just a little while, not the full good job yet. He will also go to his bed when he sees his milk on his way in mummy's hands, guess he knows it is sleeping time.

Daddy realised that Kdenn likes to read picture books too :) Especially if they are realistic photo prints, eg. magazines, he can go flipping front and back again and again, as if he understands the informations. He has books on fruits, things, and bodyparts and yes, he points to his ear when we ask him! so cute kekekee.... and he points to his left ear and smiles to us!! ...wonder when will he know more parts ahaha.... now he knows ear, elephant, dog, puppy, hamburger, which are some of things found on his learning chart.

We are trying to see his personality and strengths, wow!! hmm....

16 months old

Kdenn turns 16 months old on 17 April 2007!! Mummy take this day to update his growing up learning abilities as of today. Let's see.... Kdenn now knows how to...

- point at bus, aeroplane, birds, cats and dogs

- keep his toys (when he got mood la)

- go to bathroom when we say "bom-bom", play water and bathe(in chinese)

- use hanky to clean his eyes when water flows into his face

...and he loves to go to the swimming pool, splash water, play balls of any sizes, push cars, flip books...and throw things!!

Next month shall be a significant month Mummy is looking super forward to, because Kdenn is turning 17months on the 17 May and is also Mummy's birthday hahahhaaaaa....

weekend marathons

Since he started walking fast and clumsily, Kdenn has been this way at home over weekends. So that's why mum and dad rather bring him out in stroller instead of giving him risks of knocking into objects at home, running this way in and out and in and out....

Kdenn's 1st Swim, GOOD Friday!

After monitoring Kdenn's coughing and phlegm for sometime, Mummy and Daddy decided to bring Kdenn to the pool, finally, as he has stabled in health...thou there are still some phlegm at times. It was Good Friday, and a long weekend which stretched from Friday to Sunday. Kdenn went for first swim on Friday, and since he liked it so much, he went for a second swim again on sunday, both mornings. First, Daddy allowed him to play in the pool for just half hour, as it was his first attempt in a public pool. On Sunday morning, Kdenn was able to play in there for an hour, until we realised he was shivering after one strong wind came, and so we decided it was long enough liao.

Well, guess we should have expected, he doesn't want to leave the pool!! Like a kid, he cried and scream to be in there again.... even after we cleaned and changed him... He kept pointing to the pool and struggled to be there again... Well, yes, of course, no means no, enough means enough. Guess Kdenn has a long way to go from now, to understand what his limits are.

He splashes water excitedly, then try to clean water off his eyes :D

Mummy had a long-planned shopping spree to Marina Square for this wonderful saturday, bringing Kdenn along. Daddy and Kdenn were together too, from 1pm to 8pm, at the shopping mall, all the way! We finally did it! A meal outside for Kdenn, was quite smooth anyway. Daddy and Mummy were glad. Ah-gong came along in the evening to join in the dinner. Kdenn went to Kiddy Palace and got stucked again at the playing table with blocks for kids to sit and play with. As weird and unique as Kdenn always is, he wasn't interested at all in building the blocks. He was more eager in pushing the basket of blocks away, better out of the store!!! When we urge him to leave, he attempted to push the basket of blocks with him to us!! Wow!! Of course after stopping him, the screaming and crying start again!!!

You thot he really was good, can sit and play, but then... in no more than 5 seconds!!...

He is trying to push the basket away from place!!!!!!!! insteadof showing interest in the blocks!!!

Sigh, we are having a headache now that Kdenn is NOT obeying to outdoor rules, not holding hands with parents, not sitting in his stroller and be good, as he had just started to ask for freedom at outdoors, to walk on his own. He is super mischievious, super rebellious, super bull-tempered, super hyper, super "loud", super "itchy-hand" and yet, super fun-loving!!! *Daddy and Mummy faint*

Mummy decided to send these two pictures for some baby contests from now, some from Motherhood, maybe more from others?? Must buy the magazines already lor...., whichever kdenn is eligible for!! Let's see.... Will he win any contests???
